JBC Management Solutions Ltd. is based in Ponteland, close to Newcastle Airport. The business was set up in 2004 by Bruce Cusworth, a qualified accountant, to provide a range of high quality services to owner-managed businesses in the North East.
These aims continue to be our abiding principles as the business evolves. Martin, a qualified CIMA accountant, is now the principal contact and has taken over the day-to-day running of the business.
In addition to the skills acquired with our professional qualifications, between us we have over 40 years’ hands-on experience working in businesses just like yours.
We enjoy working with our clients to set up accounts' systems which provide useful and timely information, and generally make life easier for our clients.
Even in the best-run businesses, things can go wrong and we love it when we find something and are able to put it right before it becomes a major issue and damages the business.
Our approach is flexible to suit the individual needs of the client and we design an accounting system which is geared to provide the client with accurate and timely information to help them manage their business better.
Meet The Team
Bruce is the founding father (quite literally). He originally trained and qualified as a chartered accountant with Pricewaterhouse, working as an Auditor. After qualifying he moved into industry, working for several companies including Proctor & Gamble and Tommee Tippee, where he was the Financial Director. He brings a wealth of experience of financial management and strategic overview, and is a real asset to the team.
Martin (Bruce's son) is a chartered management accountant who started life in the motor industry. He then moved into the retail sector and completed his CIMA qualification before joining the family business in 2016.
Martin works with clients on a wide range of tasks including systems development, year-end compliance, management information, bookkeeping and payroll. He is our expert on various accounting software packages, including Quickbooks, Xero, FreeAgent, Sage and Zoho.
Janet was formerly a teacher before training to become a bookkeeper. She can use these skills to help train business owners to manage their accounting systems with the minimum of fuss. In addition to bookkeeping & VAT Returns she runs a portfolio of payrolls up to 50 strong and is able to help employers comply with HMRC regulations.
Brian joined us in 2019 and brings a wealth of experience in the hospitality sector, which gives our clients in this sector added insight. Brian works primarily as a bookkeeper and management accountant for his clients. He is an expert on accounting software Quickbooks and Xero.
